De asemenea, PATLAB isi indeplinește misiunea cu o crestere constanta a numarului de tineri cercetatori / studenti postuniversitari si, in prezent, oamenii (cercetatorii) implicati activ in echipele de cercetare ale PATLAB, inclusiv tinerii cercetatori / post-absolvenți, au crescut la un numar de 25, inclusiv 9 tineri cercetatori cu diploma de doctorat, 2 studenti post doc; si 11 studenti care sunt ocupati cu cercetarea pentru doctorat si 2 studenti la studiile de masterat la PATLAB de la Universitatea POLITEHNICA din Bucuresti si de la Universitatea "Politehnica" din Timisoara.


De asemenea, avem un rol activ in comunitatea stiintifica internationala, cu J. (Koos), F. van Staden, care face parte din International Advisory Board of Analytical Letters and Journal of Flow Injection Analysis si R. (Raluca) I. van Staden, care face parte din International Advisory Board of Preparative Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Sensor Letters and Sensors & Transducers Journal. Amandoi sunt intr-un proces constant de primire si arbitrare a manuscriselor din diferite reviste internationale. J. (Koos) F. van Staden face parte din  comitetele stiintifice ale intalnirilor internationale. Atat Koos, cat si Raluca van Staden sunt membri activi ai Diviziei de Chimie Analitica (DAC- Division of Analytical Chemistry) a Asociatiei Europene a Stiintelor Chimice si Moleculare (EuCheMS), ambii fiind membrii ai Asociatiei Europene a Stiintelor Chimice si Moleculare (EuCheMS) Societatea Electrochimica (ECS) si Societatea Americana de Chimie (ACS). Raluca van Staden este presedintele ACS din Romania.


Profesorul dr. Jacobus Frederick van Staden, profesor emerit al Universitatii din Pretoria, Africa de Sud si director al PATLAB, Bucuresti, Romania a fost Presedintele onorific si Prof Dr Eng. Radu Munteanu, rector al Universitatii Tehnice Cluj-Napoca, Presedintele juriului cu prilejul celei de-a opta editii a Expozitiei Internationale de Cercetare, Inovare si Invenții "PRO INVENT 2010", organizat de Universitatea Tehnica in colaborare cu Camera de Comerț si Industrie a Romaniei si cu Societatea Universitatilor Inventatorilor din Cluj, in perioada 16-19 martie 2010, in Cluj-Napoca, România. Prof. Koos van Staden a fost implicat in diferite proiecte cu diverse industrii de proces, de exemplu cu SASOL, companiile farmaceutice, Be Beers, Element 6, Anglo American, Amplats, MINTEK, Comisia Naționala de Cercetare a Apei etc in RSA si  la nivel international, unde a dezvoltat expertiza cu implicarea in Intensificarea Proceselor, senzori chimici, electrochimici si optici, cataliza, tehnologii de proces, reactoare (Bio) cu membrane catalitice, cercetarea in domeniul industriei bateriilor auto și a fost consultant tehnic in 13 proiecte pentru Comisia Europeana din 2009 pâna in 2016, unde a fost implicat si in calitate de raportor, observator independent, evaluator si consultant stiintific tehnic. In aceasta perioada, el devine si membru activ al SUSCHEM din partea Comisiei Europene.

Tehnologia analitica de proces (PAT) este o aplicatie a Stiintei Analitice utilizata la monitorizarea si controlul oricarei activitati numite sistem de operare (sau proces) ca o entitate globala (in totalitate) in timp real.

Tehnologia analitica de microproces (MPAT) implica studiul si aplicattile PT-ului cu toate sursele disponibile si tehnologia moderna la micro sisteme.

Tehnologia analitica de nanoproces (NPAT) implica studiul si aplicattile PT-ului cu toate sursele disponibile si tehnologia moderna la scala nano- sau chiar si atomica.

VIZIUNE:- Prima viziune este sa se utilizeze PATLAB-ul ca o baza si sursa care ofera calificarea necesara si educatia cu cercetare de inalta calitate  pentru a servi drept catalist pentru o industrie dinamica pentru a imbunatati calitatea vietii si bunastarea intr-un mediu corespunzator.  

MISIUNE: Cercetare si dezvoltare in sisteme bazate pe flux si sisteme fara flux utilizand PAT si NPAT pentru a crea echipamente pentru procese interactive inteligente pentru masurare si control destinate masurarii intr-un singur punct sau in mai multe puncte a mai multor analiti in timp real.

STRATEGIE: Strategia PATLAB-ului aliniata strategiei nationale de cercetare-dezvoltare-inovare, strategia PATLAB-ului, este de a se integra cu succes prin instrumentele moderne de inalta calitate pentru cercetare-dezvoltare ca laborator international de excelenta si competenta in network-urile europene si nationale. Acest lucru poate fi realizat in cooperare cu institute, universitati si agenti economici pentru aplicatii la programe stiintifice si tehnologice care vor conduce la dezvoltarea economica si sociala a tarii noastre.

EDUCATIE SI TRAINING: Este dorinta noastra sa specializam tineri cercetatori si sa le asiguram training la inalt nivel in acest domeniu, sa supervizam functionarea analizoarelor de proces si sa asiguram calitatea necesara pentru beneficiari. Studentii la master si doctorat (de la diferite universitati) sunt asteptati la PATLAB pentru training cu echipamentele existente, expertiza dobandita facilitandu-le obtinerea unor pozitii pe masura in industrie, spitale, institute de cercetare si mediul academic.

DOMENII DE CERCETARE: Tehnologia analitica de proces si nanoproces (PAT si NPAT) (on-line, in-line si at-line) pentru monitorizare in timp real si sinteza la scala mica (microreactoare si bioreactoare) in diferite domenii de exemplu procese industriale, industria farmaceutica, agricultura, sanatate si diagnosticare, poluarea mediului, pielarie, hartie, ceramica, coloranti, industria textila. Cercetarea in domeniul materialelor pentru energie neconventionala. Cercetare in domeniul nanostructurilor la scara nano si atomica utilizand AFM/STM de inalta rezolutie, dispozitive minielectrochimice, minibioelectrochimice si minispectroscopice. Pentru aceasta, vor fi dezvoltate si implementate noi tehnologii (incluzand noi fundamentari teoretice si nanotehnologii) bazate pe flux continuu, injectie in flux, injectie secventiala, microfluide, nanotehnologie cu disc rotativ, dot senzori si senzori bazati pe fibra optica, tehnici de separare, cromatografie (ionica si de lichide), electroforeza capilara, cu detectie spectrometrica, chemiluminometrica, senzori si biosenzori.

1. ANALIZOR DE PROCES IN FLUX FLOPRO PENTRU CERCETARE.

Analizorul de proces FlowProcontine doua pompe milliGAT, 2 valve, un detector fotometric bazat pe LED, un reactor care poate fi controlat termic, totul fiind controlat de un calculator prin intermediul unui software

2. ANALIZOARE DE PROCES MINI-FLOWPRO- ZONE FLUIDICS CU DETECTOR UV/Vis.

Mini-FloPro echipat cu pompa milliGAT, 2 valve de selectie, reactor termostatat si accesorii pentru zone fluidice poate fi utilizat pentru studiul diferitelor reactii. Detectorul este un spectrometru UV/Vis de la Ocean Optics. Un laptop si un software sunt dedicate controlului de proces.

3. ANALIZOARE DE PROCES MINI-FLOWPRO- ZONE FLUIDICS CU DETECTOR POTENTIOSTAT. PENTRU DETECTIE AMPEROMETRICA.

Mini-FloPro echipat cu pompa milliGAT, 2 valve de selectie, reactor termostatat si accesorii pentru zone fluidice poate fi utilizat pentru studiul diferitelor reactii. Detectorul este un potentiostat Bioanalytical Petit pentru detectie amperometrica. Un laptop si un software sunt dedicate controlului de proces.

4. ANALIZOARE DE PROCES MINI-FLOWPRO-  ZONE FLUIDICS CU DETECTOR DE

    FLUORESCENTA

Mini-FloPro echipat cu pompa milliGAT, 2 valve de selectie, reactor termostatat si accesorii pentru zone fluidice poate fi utilizat pentru studiul diferitelor reactii. Detectorul este unul de fluorescenta de la Ocean Optics. Un laptop si un software sunt dedicate controlului de proces.

5. ANALIZOARE DE PROCES MINI-FLOWPRO-ZONE FLUIDICS CU DETECTOR DE

    CHEMILUMINESCENTA

Mini-FloPro echipat cu pompa milliGAT, 2 valve de selectie, reactor termostatat si accesorii pentru zone fluidice poate fi utilizat pentru studiul diferitelor reactii. Detectorul este Global FIA FireFly de chemiluminescenta. Un laptop si un software sunt dedicate controlului de proces.

6. SPECTROMETRU DE FLUORESCENTA QE65000 – GRAD STIINTIFIC.

Spectrometrul de fluorescenta QE65000 – grad stiintific, posibilitatea setarii radiatiei de  fluorescenta, Lampa PX-2 Pulsed Xenon este sursa de excitare, Hamamatsu FFT-CCD detectorul, domeniul de detectie este 200-1100 nm, scanari complete memorate la fiecare 7 ms cu transfer de date prin intermediul USB 2.0, Randament cuantic pana la 90%, Fibra optica, Controlat de calculator si software.

7. SPECTROMETRU DE INALTA REZOLUTIE HR4000

Spectrometrul de inalta rezolutie HR4000, UV/Vis pana la NIR, sursa - Balanced Deuterium Tungsten , detector array 3648-element CCD de la Toshiba care face ca rezolutia optica sa aiba precizia de 0.02 nm (FWHM), domeniul dec detectie 200-1100 nm, Scanarile complete sunt memorate la fiecare 4 ms cu transfer de date prin intermediul USB 2.0, Fibra optica, Controlat de calculator si software.

8. MINIPOTENTIOSTAT UNISCAN PG580 (3 INSTRUMENTE) METROHM AUTOLAB POTENTIOSTATS (3 UNSTRUMENTE) (PGSTAT12, PGSTAT302N, PGSTAT100)

Mini-potentiostatele Uniscan (2 instrumente) pot fi utilizate pentru: voltametrie ciclica si lineara, SWV, NPV, DPV, cronoamperometrie si cronopotentiometrie cu micro si nanosenzori, fiind posibil sa se uilizeze in sistem multiplexer pana la 5 electrozi de lucru.

9. MICROSCOP DE FORTA ATOMICA AGILENT 5500 (AFM)/SCANNING PROBE MICROSCOPY (SPM)

Agilent 5500 este  un instrument dotat cu diferite moduri specifice AFM-ului si SPM dotat cu EC-SPM pentru studiul comportarii si cineticii micro si nanoprobelor electrochimice in timp real, Pico-TREC pentru topografie si recunoastere cu SPM pentru identificarea moleculeor de interes, un sistem ideal pentru micro si nanosenzori - litografia nano patterning via probe bias si gravura electrochimica, nano scriere and nano modificare prin depunerea pe suprafata sub potential controlat.

10. SPECTROFOTOMETRU SHIMADZU 3600 CU DUBLU FASCICOL

Spectrometru de inalta rezolutie, destinat cercetarii Domeniul de unda 185 – 3300 nm, echipat cu 3 detectori: un detector PMT (tub fotomultiplicator) pentru ultraviolet si vizibil, si detectori de InGaAs  si PbS pentru IR apropiat. Detectorul InGaAs face legatura intre schimbarile de lungime de unda specifice PMT - PbS  unde sensibilitatea este de obicei mica, pentru a asigura sensibilitatea inalta pe tot domeniul de masura cu zgomot <0.00003 la 1500 nm.

11. CYBERSCAN PCD 6500 pH/ION/CONDUCTIVITATE/DO MULTIMETRU.

Cyberscan PCD 6500  pH/Ion/Conductivitate/Oxigen Dizolvat – multimetru masoara si citeste simultan pana la 4 parametrii Un CE-Driven Full-Colour Touchscreen 21 CFR Part 11-compliant Bench meter cu multicanale care masoara in timp real parametrii facand si analiza grafica cu procesare rapida a datelor, avand si posibilitatea de comunicare mai departe a rezultatelor prin USB.

12. AUTOLAB ESPRIT SURFACE PLASMA RESONANCE INSTRUMENT.

Instrumentul Autolab Surface Plasma Resonance (SPR) ajuta la analiza interactiilor moleculare in timp real. Autolabul ESPRIT permite utilizatorului sa efectueze automat, cu mare viteza experimentele de SPR, sistemul incluzand un canal de referinta pentru temperatura si legare nespecifica. Instrumentul contine incorporate un autosampler cu cuve standard si o cuva standard pentru masuratori de Surface Plasma Resonance (SPR) in care se pot studia interactiile moleculare. Cuva electrochimica permite masuratori simultane electrochimice si optice, avand incorporati 3 electrozi: un punct de contact la discul de aur (electrodul de lucru), electrodul de referinta Ag/AgCl si un contraelectrod de Pt.

13.  Sistemul SECM370. SCANNING ELECTROCHEMICAL MICROSCOPE SYSTEM

SECM370 este un sistem de scanare de mare precizie care utilizeaza un microelectrod, care poate monitoriza fluxul de curent intre microelectrod si suprafata intr-o solutie. Poate fi utilizat pentru examinarea si analiza unei suprafete chimice in solutie. Aplicatiile sunt studii fundamentale ale reactiilor la suprafata electrozilor, imaginistica a biosistemelor, coroziune, studiul stabilitatii enzimelor. SECM370 include un bipotentiostat utilizat la controlul independent al proceselor electrochimice la microelectrod si substrat.

14. Spectrometrul QEPRO-Raman Scientific

Spectrometrul QEPRO-Raman Scientific este o combinatie preconfigurata de detectoare, bancnote optice, electronice, sonde si tehnologii laser care ofera utilizatorilor un sistem remarcabil de sensibil pentru spectroscopia Raman cu nivel scazut de lumina. QE65000-Raman poate atinge o eficienta cuantica de până la 90%, cu o viteza mare de procesare a semnalului la zgomot si rapida.


15. INSTRUMENT RAMAN PORTABIL

PATLAB este echipat cu un instrument PinPointer care imbina un sistem Raman complet echipat intr-o unitate adevarata de mana. Aceasta este urmatoarea generatie a spectrometrului Raman portabil, care a fost prezentat într-un episod al CSI Miami si un documentar de explorare a pesterilor de catre oamenii de stiinta NASA din cadrul National Geographic Channel. Unitatea este controlata de un calculator Windows miniatural si dispune de un software ușor de folosit ID-find ™ care ofera identificarea cu un singur contact a substantelor necunoscute prin compararea imediata a unui spectru masurat cu biblioteca spectrala Raman la bord.


16. SPECTROMETRU FX SUPER-FAST OCEAN


PATLAB are un SPECTROMETRU FX SUPER-FAST OCEAN cu sensibilitate ridicata, viteza de achizitie rapida si comunicatii imbunatatite. Ocean FX este un spectrometru versatil, distins prin viteza de achizitie de pana la 4.500 de scanari pe secunda, procesare la bord pentru imbunatatirea SNR si timp redus de transfer de date, precum si prin comunicari robuste prin USB, SPI, Gigabit Ethernet si Wi-Fi.
